Deep Lady statues are often placed at home, and during events and festivals as an auspicious decor welcoming people. The set of brass statues portrays two ladies holding a small deepam plate, and they are also called as Deep Lakshmi. Each deep lady is standing on an inverted lotus pedestal, and adorned with beautiful ornaments, artistically draped vastram (clothing), and has two parrots sitting on their shoulders. The face of the deep ladies has a smiling expression expressing their happiness holding the deepam plate. The deepam plate is filled with oil or ghee, and a wick (strands of thread or cotton) is placed inside to light the lamp.
